Little Steps · Effective 22 September 2026
1. What the app stores locally
To provide the routine features, Little Steps can store the child profile nickname and age, parent-created routines and tasks, task history, diamond/reward progress, daily adventure progress, app preferences, first-use movie and hatching status, legacy Pip preferences, owned and placed furniture identifiers, archived garment ownership and one-time refund status, virtual-diamond spending, room styles, daily-plan task identifiers and check-in/approval flags, day history, queued task-reward animation records, notification master preference and permission-request status, reminder/timer state, and a salted derived representation of the parent PIN. The parent PIN itself is not stored in plaintext.
2. What leaves the device
The app does not transmit this information to Little Steps, our server, advertisers, analytics providers or other third parties. The Android app does not request the INTERNET permission.
3. Data we do not collect
- No advertising identifier or behavioral advertising data
- No precise or approximate location
- No contacts, phone number, SMS or call logs
- No camera, microphone, photos or files
- No email address or child account
- No health record, diagnosis or medical information
4. Notifications
If a parent enables reminders, Little Steps uses Android notifications for routine and timer reminders. The app requests notification permission where required and receives device boot/time-change events so local reminders can be restored. These events are handled locally. Disabling the app’s notification preference cancels its reminders; Android notification permission is respected separately.
5. Backup and transfer
Android cloud backup is disabled for Little Steps. The app also excludes its local app data from Android device-transfer backup rules. There is currently no Little Steps cloud backup or sync service.
6. Children and families
Little Steps is designed for family use and includes a child-facing routine experience and a PIN-protected parent area. We intentionally avoid advertising, tracking, open chat, stranger communication and public child profiles. Parents or guardians should configure routines and rewards appropriate for their family.
7. Deleting local data
Because there is no server account, there is no remote account record to delete. A device owner can remove all Little Steps app data by clearing the app’s storage in Android Settings or uninstalling the app. Uninstalling currently removes local progress because no cloud restore exists.
8. Website
This website does not use advertising or analytics scripts. Like most web servers, the hosting server may create standard security/access logs containing items such as IP address, browser user-agent, requested page and timestamp. These website logs are separate from the Little Steps Android app.
If you voluntarily email support, the email service handles your message and sender address so we can reply. This is separate from the offline app and is not automatic transmission of the child’s app data. Avoid sending sensitive child information. Contact us to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to any necessary legal retention.
9. Changes
If the app’s data practices change, this policy and the Google Play Data Safety declaration will be updated before the changed behavior is released.
10. Contact
For privacy or support questions, email support@littlesteps.click or see the Little Steps support page.
Website feedback and support tickets
The optional tester feedback form is separate from the offline Android app. It sends the adult’s question, bug report or suggestion to our server and creates a private ticket. Contact email, name, app version and device details are optional. Please do not provide children’s personal or medical details.
We use submissions to investigate problems, improve Little Steps and respond to the adult contact. The dashboard is password-protected. New-ticket notifications go to support@littlesteps.click; replies sent from the dashboard go only to the ticket’s provided email address. No marketing subscription is created.
Resolved tickets are deleted after 180 days; inactive unresolved tickets after 365 days. Private database backups rotate after 14 days. Mailbox copies may remain separately until deleted. Anti-abuse rate checks use keyed hashes rather than storing raw IP addresses in the ticket database; host security logs are separate.
See the feedback privacy notice. For access or deletion requests contact support@littlesteps.click.
